THE SIAN RUCK STORY
Johnsonville Women's Team Co-Captain and Wellington Blaze left-arm opening bowler Sian has been selected for the White Ferns to contest the Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies in April 2010. This selection followed on from Sian's success in the Twenty20 World Cup in England in 2009 and her selection in the White Ferns who contested the Rose Bowl seies against Australia in February 2010.
Sian played an integral role within the 14-strong squad at the Twenty20 tournament in England, which took place at the same time as the Men's World Cup tournament.
State Wellington Blaze coach Mark Borthwick says Ruck's selection is a terrific reward for her commitment and dedication to her game.
"This selection is really well deserved for a player who has worked exceedingly hard over the last three seasons. Sian has made her fitness for cricket a priority and has made many sacrifices on her journey and has now achieved her goal," says Borthwick
"Sian is a great advertisement for where hard work and selfless determination can get you."
25-year old Sian has been a regular member of the Blaze team in both the State League and State League Twenty20 forms of the game.

He is also a longtime regular contributor with both bat and ball for Johnsonville in fact surpassing 4,000 club cricket runs in November 2008.
Luke briefly held the all time highest score record for Johnsonville in 2007-08 with a fine unbeaten 177* only to be surpassed by our overseas import Atiq-Uz-Zaman (226*) last season.
